Here are my web sites:

I'm always open to go out to the lake for a shoot- with a group or individually.

At this point in history, when it seems there is almost nothing undiscovered, there is Great Salt Lake - unexplored by most, and under-appreciated by so many in this area. The lake is a vast psychological experience- a three-dimensional trip far outside one's experience and expectations.

The long, surreal vistas. The stumbling upon markings left by those who once called this their lake. You can capture the urban sprawl of two million people below the giant Wasatch Mountains in one snapshot, then in solitude, turn and see the full moon fall into an ancient sea of sparkling, reflective salt water, in a moment that is only yours. I believe that at Great Salt Lake you can have some of the most personal experiences of your life.

I stopped into pixels today to print some photos for the Utah County Fair, and I looked behind me, and saw one of your photos blown up on the wall. Pretty cool!

That was taken in the Needles District in Canyonlands in May. We were out there to take photos of the sunset and moon rise. Ended up climbing up on the rock formation behind the little "ghosts". I love Canyonlands and Moab.

the clone shots are easy. take a base shot, then do the timer run to different spots. i use lightroom, import photos then open them all in PS.
Drag the shots onto the base image. then using layer masks paint in the person.
cake!
on the night shot i usally shoot around 5.6 and 100 or 200 iso. and leave the shutter open long time. the time depends on the light level. some are only 90 seconds. but most are in the hundreds.

sorry i did not respond faster i did not see where the comment was at. its at the bottom.

Thanks again, it was great to meet some other shooters, always interesting to shoot together to see another interpretation when you were right there. Somehow it's a rich experience. Thanks again.

Scientists find patterns in Utah's wet-dry cycles

http://www.sltrib.com/news/ci_13681950?source=rv

A team studied long-suspected patterns against temperature measurements, precipitation readings, tree-ring data and levels.

They looked at data that goes back nearly 1,000 years, discovering a powerful relationship between sea-surface temperatures in a specific area of the Pacific Ocean and the rainfall and snowfall in northern Utah.

The 12-year cycle is like an echo… Continue

For Sale: Train car!

Wally Wright, the man who owns the property near Saltair on which the Water Slide and Train car sit, is actively looking to have the stuff removed as soon as possible. So long, great photo location!

IMHO, the area needs a nice location out there in which the general public can safely take pictures of people near Great Salt Lake - Even if there is a monetary charge to do so. Black Rock is not that pretty, and it's too small.

There is plenty of room.. It would be nice to see such a place develop… Continue

Sand May Be 5th State of Matter: Study

Sand exhibits so many unexplainable physical properties that some think granularity is a form of matter unto itself, Wired reports. Granular matter acts like a solid, a liquid, or a gas depending on the circumstance. “You walk on the beach, and the sand supports your weight,” said physicist Heinrich Jaeger. “Pick up a handful, and it runs through your fingers, like a liquid. But you can’t walk on water.”

A recent study of the physics of falling sand shows the grains forming into droplets like w… Continue

Marblehead: Construction Company Owner Killed In Horrific Accident

This is very sad for everyone including the many photographers who photographed this area, before Ron shooed them away becuase of safety concerns.

The owner of a construction company is crushed and killed when a 40 ton storage silo comes crashing down on him. Ron Samford, owner of a small construction company was working with two employees to dismantle two large lime silos at the old Marblehead mining faculty just outside of Delle, Utah.
