VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR BIOBLITZ AT ANTELOPE ISLAND STATE PARK
Syracuse– Volunteers are needed to assist local scientists, researchers, professors, and naturalists at Antelope Island State Park Friday, May 8 and Saturday, May 9 as part of the First Annual BioBlitz.
A BioBlitz is a 24-hour inventory of all living organisms in a given area. Results of the BioBlitz will show the biological diversity of Antelope Island.Participants work one, five-hour shift over a 24-hour period and assist area experts as they inventory insects, birds, bats, mammals and plants.
This is a great opportunity for park visitors to get a close view of life on Antelope Island. Registration is required by April 30, but spots are filing quickly. To register or for more information, please call (801) 721-9569 or email crystalcarpenter@utah.gov.
